Iron

For best and most consistent results, Coliseum DTF Transfers should be applied with a heat press. A household iron can work for personal projects but may reduce durability.

General Guidelines

  • Heat Setting: Cotton / Linen (high, no steam)
  • Press Time: 15–20 seconds per section
  • Pressure: Very firm, using body weight

Step-by-Step

  1. Prep surface & garment

Use a hard, heat-safe surface (countertop or table). Avoid ironing boards.

Place a folded towel or pressing mat under the garment.

Pre-iron the area for 5–10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

  2. Position the transfer

Place the transfer design-side down on the garment.

Cover completely with parchment or baking paper.

  3. Apply heat in sections

Press the iron straight down on one section at a time for 15–20 seconds.

Use firm pressure—do not slide the iron.

Lift and move to the next section until the entire design has been covered, slightly overlapping each area.

  4. Peel the film

Let the transfer cool for a few seconds to a warm temperature.

Carefully peel the film in a slow, steady motion.

If part of the design lifts, cover again and re-press that area for a few more seconds.

  5. Finishing press

Place parchment over the finished print.

Press each section again for 5–8 seconds with firm pressure.
